Chaudhry Muhammad Siddique Advocate, President of the Friends of Mirpur (FoM) organisation said on Thursday that Britain-based Kashmiri expatriates were playing important role in projecting positive image of Pakistan there. He was speaking as chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony at a private-sector school here.
He said Friends of Mirpur would spare no effort to raise the image of Pakistan in United Kingdom by strengthening partnership between the Britain-based Pakistani and Kashmiri community and the Pakistans diplomatic missions in Britain. Furthermore, he said an integrated plan has been started for the dispensation of latest educational material including computer labs to the educational institutions of AJK.
He said that there had been tremendous achievements in the field of education as a result of the friendship linkage between Mirpur and Bradford cities. He said that the Pakistani diplomatic missions in various parts of Britain, including the High Commission in London as well as the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation should act upon the open door policy to listen every complainant from amongst our community to resolve their problems.
Siddique called for close interaction through frequent formal meetings between the Pakistani High Commission and consulates in London and other parts of UK and all segments of Pakistani/Kashmiri community in United Kingdom to exchange views on the problems of the United Kingdom-based Pakistani and Kashmiri expatriates hailing from different parts of Pakistan as well as Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
