PPCBL to provide Rs 2.5 billion loan for Kharif crop

The Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Ltd (PPCBL) will disburse loan amounting to Rs 2.5 billion for Kharif crop 2009. This was announced by Khalid Pervez, Secretary Co-operative, Government of Punjab while addressing a meeting of the field officers from across the Punjab.
He said disbursement of the loan to be started from the month of April would enable the small farmers to meet their agriculture needs. The Registrar Co-operatives, Punjab Maqsood Qadir Shah during the meeting briefed the secretary co-operatives about the affairs of the Bank.
He informed that an aggressive campaign has been launched for recovery of loans with recovery targets assigned to the field functionaries of the bank as well as co-operatives department and the progress is being monitored at head office. He further said with an aim to achieve the best possible results legal action has been initiated against the defaulters.
The secretary co-operatives directed the participants to take the task seriously and ensure achievement of assigned target otherwise strict disciplinary action will be initiated against the delinquents. He further desired to undertake all out efforts for the advance, recovery and growth of co-operative movement in the province in line with policy of the government.
