Sharif brothers petitions hearing to start on March 30

A five-member special larger bench of the Supreme Court (SC) will start hearing of review petitions in Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif disqualification cases from Monday (March 30) according to the cause list issued by the Fixture Department of the Apex Court.
The bench is comprising, Justice Tassadduque Hussain Jillani, Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Moosa K. Leghari, Justice Sheikh Hakim Ali and Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed. The bench will hear review petitions filed by the Federation of Pakistan and others including Mehar Zafar Iqbal and Shakeel Baig both proposer and seconder of Mian Nawaz Sharif respectively in the cases of disqualification of former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
It may be recalled that a three member bench of the SC disqualified Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif on February 25 this year through short order by dismissing all the appeals filed by the Federation and others in the cases.
The bench comprising Justice Moosa K. Leghari, Justice Sheikh Hakim Ali and Justice Syed Sakhi Hussain Bukhari also released the detailed judgement in Mian Brothers cases on March 21, just a day before restoration of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, who assumed charge on March 22 according to the notification issued by the government on March 17 following the announcement of the Prime Minister.
