Prime Minister assures legislators of no drone attacks

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday assured parliamentarians that there would be no drone attack inside Pakistan, saying that the matter had already been discussed with the US. Addressing a parliamentary party meeting, he said that the government would uphold the supremacy of Constitution, and stressed the need for political maturity by all parties to ensure stability in the country.
The Prime Minister said that the government believed in taking onboard all political parties on the issues of national importance, and would take prudent steps for reconciliation.
He said that the government was not afraid of accountability. About reconciliation with Nawaz Sharif, he said that he had offered him the olive branch to end the situation of political instability and insecurity in the country. He said that the government had also offered to file review petition in the Supreme Court on his case of ineligibility. Personally, he said, he was against the governor rule in Punjab.
