Expectations for improvement in inflows, failed to save the rupee from fresh losses on the interbank market on Wednesday, losing 8 paisa for buying at 80.58 and also falling 7 paisa for selling at 80.62, dealers said.
Some money experts said that financial assistance by the donors might help the rupee to recover its losses versus dollar. Besides, it is also likely that this positive factor would increase the foreign exchange reserve position, currency analysts said.
Amid third Asian session yen surged broadly after a report that President Barack Obama was prepared to let carmaker Chrysler go bankrupt, stirring risk aversion in the market and helping yen to reverse losses against dollar and euro.
