Chopping nose of women: LHC asks law officer to submit detailed report

Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) directed law officer to submit a comprehensive report by April 10 regarding the incident of chopping nose of a woman, Mst Fatima, by her ex-husband Muhammad Hussain of Pakpattan for contracting second marriage.
Taking suo motu notice of the incident, Chief Justice Sayed Zahid Hussain observed that the report should contain the details about the action taken against the accuse and what treatment was being given to the lady. The Chief Justice also directed District Police Officer (DPO) Pakpattan to appear before the court on next date of hearing.
Fatima said that Muhammad Hussain had compelled her to live in sin to which she refused and ultimately succeeded in getting divorce from him. Thereafter, she contracted marriage with Mustafa, brother in law of Muhammad Hussain. She was sleeping in her home, her ex-husband along with his accomplices entered the house and chopped off her nose with a sharp edged weapon.
