The newly elected Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan Syed Munawar Hassan has termed as baseless the allegations of US administration that al Qaeda network based in Pakistans tribal areas was planning to attack America. He said this while addressing a gathering at Mansoora on Friday.
He said the US was behind the terrorist attacks in Pakistan while President Obamas stance vis-a-vis tribal areas would prove lethal. In the past, the US allegations against Iraq proved wrong, he said, adding that the US think tank is giving an impression that Americans were losing war in Afghanistan. He said it was ironical that the US was accepting their defeat but could not name the winning party. Now the US wanted to impose its war on Pakistan by choosing the tribal areas as their battlefield, he added.
Munawar condemned the drone attacks in countrys tribal areas and said Taliban had established ideal government and established law and order and peace in the Afghanistan. Taliban regime eradicated cultivation of poppy in Afghanistan, he added. He also condemned the US allegations on Inter Services Intelligence (ISI). He said that American intentions were clear from their statements. We need collective struggle at national level to tackle present challenges, he added.
