Altaf for trial of persons involved in girls flogging

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Chief Altaf Hussain has called upon the government to try the persons involved in flogging a young girl publicly in Swat before the court. MQM Chief was addressing via telephone from London a gathering of women organised by his party near at Quaid-e-Azams Mazar here.
Among other notables, Deputy Convenor MQM Rabita Committee, Dr Farooq Sattar, Naib Nazim Karachi, Ms Nasreen Jaleel and MQM-backed members of National and Sindh Assembly were also present. On the request of MQMs Chief Altaf Hussain, the gathering also observed one minute silence as a mark of condemnation on the incident of public flogging of a girl in Swat.
During his address, Altaf called upon the government to try the accused of public flogging of a girl in Swat. Altaf also called for exemplary punishment to the persons responsible for the incident. Altaf also shared a fact-finding report about the public flogging incident which was published on a website by an international broadcasting media organisation on April 3, 2009. He also pointed out that an investigation team of MQM has also prepared a research report about the incident. The participants of the gathering were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against public flogging of a girl at Swat.
