Anti-polio campaign in selected districts from April 13

Three-day round of Anti-Polio Campaign under Special National Immunisation Drive (SNID) in 9 selected districts of the Punjab Province including Faisalabad would continue from 13th to 15th April, 2009. DCO Saeed Wahlah informed this during a meeting under his chairmanship of to review the arrangements of the three day special round.
DCO directed the officers of the concerned departments to take the anti-polio campaign as moral responsibility as well and serious attention should be given on the implementation of Anti-Polio plan in letter and spirit so that desired results could be achieved.
He expressed his concern over the presence of polio virus in Pakistan after repeated campaigns in the past and said that perhaps it could be due to irresponsibility on the part of some officials so we should realise our official and moral duties and personal attention should be focused on those areas which were missed because of reason whatsoever by having an access to every nook and corner of the district.
WHO representative Dr Deborah informed the meeting about the objectives and importance of the special round of Anti Polio Drive in the selected districts. Health EDO Captain Dr Muhammad Siddique and DO Health Dr Rana Imran Ali Khan gave details of the Anti Polio plan and informed that more than 1.193 million children under five years age would be administered polio vaccine drops for which 2,715 teams of health department would be deputed.
The meeting was also attended by EDO (Revenue) Malik Aslam, EDO Education Habib Imran, Senior Admn. Officer Liaqat Ali Chatha, Secretary RTA Rai Wajid Ali, Medical Superintendent Allied Hospital Dr Bashir Rana, representative of Rotary Club and others.
