Speakers at a conference stressed the need of taking prompt measures to overcome the current financial crisis and put the economy on right track. These views were expressed by several speakers at conference on "Managing in Turbulent Time" held at local hotel on Wednesday.
Speakers were Marvi Memon, member national assembly, Dr Shamsh Kasim Lakha, chairman Pakistan centre for philanthropy, Sohail Wajahat H. Siddiqui, managing director, Siemens Pakistan, Asad Ali Shah, president, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (Icap), Professor Tsurita Fujita, senior adviser, Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro), Naved A. Khan, president, Faysal Bank Limited, Rafiq Rangoonwala, CEO, Cupola Pakistan Limited, Hasan Aziz Bilgrami, president, Bank Islami Pakistan Limited, Khurram Rahat, managing director, Teradata Pakistan and Jehan Ara, president, Pakistan Software Houses Association (Pasha).
In his keynote address, Ebrahim Khalifa Al Dossary, advisor to Prime Minister of Bahrain said "MANCON 2009" would help the leaders of the market to evolve the strategy during recession and also provide an opportunity to share their thoughts and views.
From the multinational corporate to the small entrepreneur, all are struggling to meet the global economic crisis head on and emerge successful in sustaining their businesses at decent profitable levels. Earlier, Muhammad Azfar Ahsan, global CEO, Nutshell Forum said, "the conference serves as a platform for corporate leaders of the country to discuss and share international management best practices and it will go a long way in re-vitalising a knowledge-sharing culture in Pakistan".
