FPSC announces 445 vacancies for CSS candidates

The Federal Public Service Commission has announced the number of vacancies to be filled on the basis of final result of the CSS Examination 2008 with prescribed provincial/regional and womens quota.
In pursuance of Rule 22 of the Rules for Competitive Examination, 2008, the vacant posts according to the governments policy on provincial/regional and womens quota are total 445 in which 7.5 per cent are on merit basis while Punjab 50 percent, Sindh (r) 11.4 percent, Sindh (U) 7.6 percent, NWFP 11.5 percent, Balochistan 6 percent, NA-Fata 4 percent and AJK 2 percent.
Allocation against 10 percent reserved quota for women candidates will be made to the Service/Groups against the share of their Provinces/regions, except merit quota. In case qualified women candidates are not available, the unfilled vacancies will be carried forward, said a press note released here Saturday by FPSC.
In addition to the above mentioned vacancies, five vacancies of Assistant Commissioner-cum-Assistant Collector in the Income Tax-cum-Central Excise and Sales Tax/Excise and Taxation Department under Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council Secretariat belong to AJK Government are also to be filled from candidates having domicile of AJK on the basis of Competitive Examination 2008. The distribution of vacancies has been made keeping in view the plus/minus of the last years examination and carried over vacancies have been added in the respective Groups of the concerned Provinces/Regions.
