Pakistani lawmakers meet Ethiopian parliament speaker

Pakistan parliamentary delegation headed by Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, which is visiting Ethiopia, South Africa to attend 120th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Conference called on Degefe Bula, Speaker of the House of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia at the IPU Conference Centre in Addis Ababa on Saturday.
Talking to the Speaker, Kundi said that close and cordial relations were existing between Pakistan and Ethiopia and Pakistan wanted to further strengthen the existing relations. He apprised the Speaker of the House of Ethiopia about the working of the National Assembly and its Standing Committees. He underlined the need for exchange of visits of Parliamentarians between the two countries. He also proposed formation of friendship groups in the Parliaments of both the countries.
He apprised the Speaker of the House of Federation about the political situation in Pakistan and the steps taken by the government to improve the economy and restore the confidence of the foreign investors. He extended invitation to the Speaker of the House of Federation to visit Pakistan.
The Deputy Speaker informed the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs that present elected government was attaching great importance to its relations with Africa and it was in our own interest to forge closer co-operation with Ethiopia in various fields.-PR
