PML-Q will give fundamental rights to minorities: Shujaat

12 Apr, 2009

President Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that his party would soon come into power and serve the poor segment of the society. He stated this while addressing a function organised by his party in connection with the Easter at party Central Secretariat here in Islamabad.
He said that the government should deliver to the masses and added that his party would provide fundamental rights to the minorities after coming into power. However, he said, PML-Q is more interested in serving the people instead of enjoying power.
Commenting on the present situation, PML-Q president said that killing and beheading of Muslims is against the Islam and its very essence. He added that the ongoing practice of beheading and killing of other Muslims in certain parts of the country is distorting the image of Islam. He urged the government to concentrate on the real issues and serve the masses.
Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League-Q Mushahid Hussain Sayed said that government has wasted its one-year due to hollow policies. He added that the rulers did not care for delivering to the poor and indulged in non-issues during last one year.
The two major political parties, he alleged has opted double standard as on one hand they talk about Charter of Democracy and on the other hand they are engaged in the politics of horse-trading. He condemned the politics of horse-trading, saying that it is condemnable whether it is being practised in Punjab, Balochistan or any other part of the country. The manifesto of his party is people oriented and it would address the issues of the people while coming into power, he maintained.
