Seven Indian Army personnel were killed when an avalanche hit a counter-insurgency post in frontier district of Kupwara. Eight other Jawans escaped unhurt in the incident in Karnah sector, about 135 kms from occupied Srinagar. There are rumours that these personnel have been killed in a Mujahideen attack.
Meanwhile, a defence spokesman confirmed the incident but denied that these personnel were killed as a result of Mujahideens attack on their post. He said that the bodies of the personnel were recovered by the rescue teams.
