Car maker Fiat SpA said it expected higher German and Italian April sales on Thursday as Canada put pressure on Chrysler unions to agree cost cuts, key to a alliance with the Italian company. In a sign government incentives for the crisis-hit auto sector were helping sales, Fiat Auto unit chief Lorenzo Sistino said the company expected to sell more vehicles in Italy in April from a year earlier, and was sure to do so in Germany.
"Thanks to government incentives, this kind of car is becoming more and more popular," he told reporters at an event about cars that run on natural gas.
