LHC Chief Justice declines to act as acting Punjab governor

The Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Khawaja Muhammad Sharif, while refusing to take oath as acting Governor of Punjab, termed it against independence of judiciary. Punjab Governor has gone abroad, as a result which the Chief Justice was asked to hold the office of acting Governor, but he excused himself from taking oath as acting Governor of Punjab.
The CJ thanked Punjab Governor for asking him to perform duty as acting Governor, and said that he refused to accept this office in respect of judiciary and to honour the opinion of his brother judges.
