Pakistan International Airlines PIA has endured around Rs 20 million losses in the last five days due to 'go slow call' by Pakistan Airline Pilots' Association (Palpa).
Managing Director PIA Captain Ejaz Haroon on Tuesday told PTV News that the national airline has suffered losses due to non-co-operation of pilots as from 20 to 25 pilots are demanding leaves simultaneously.
Also replacements refuse to perform extra duties. Their normal duty hours are 10 hours, if need arises, they are asked to perform extra duties which could be stretched up to 16 hours. However, the real impacts would come to fore two to three weeks later as passengers would not opt for PIA due to the risk of flight cancellation or delay.
