Punjab farmers threaten to hold long march

Anjuman-e-Mazareen Punjab has threatened to hold a long march from Multan to Lahore, if the government does not fulfil the promise of allocating land to landless farmers and quash cases registered against the poor farmers during the martial law regime.
In an ultimatum given to the government for accepting their demands till May 21, the Anjuman warned that the farmers would take to the streets from Multan to Lahore to press them government to accept their demands. The General Secretary, Anjuman-e -Mazareen Punjab, Mehar Abdul Rasheed along with the Secretary, Kisan Rabita Committee, Farooq Tariq announced on Wednesday. Mehar demanded that their representation should be in the committee made by Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif to allocate land to landless farmers.
