Food department officers directed to resolve farmers' problems

Provincial Minister for Food Malik Nadeem Kamran directed the officers of food department for resolving farmers' problems who are bringing their wheat at purchase centres of food department. He said that all out efforts should be made for the purchase of wheat on support price of Rs 950 per 40kg.
He also told that if the problem faced by farmers regarding unloading and bardana on purchase centres of Kanjwanai and Tandiliwala were not solved, responsible persons would be suspended within 12 hours.
He issued these directions during his inspections of wheat procurement centres Tandilianwla and Kanjwani district Faisalabad where he reached by helicopter to check the arrangements of wheat procurement drive on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
While talking to mediamen in Tandlianwala, Provincial Food Minister said he had started inspections of procurement centres of food department on the directions of CM Punjab and during the visit the problems pointed out by the farmers and members of supervisory committee were being solved on the spot.
The minister said that due to the blessings of Almighty Allah and sincere efforts of our farmers the bumper crop of wheat has been achieved which will benefit national exchequer for amount $1 billion. We will get self-sufficiency in wheat and its over all benefits will be reached to small farmers of the country.
Earlier, during the inspection of procurement centres in Kanjwanai and Tandilianwala the growers presented their problems and application to the minister and the minister issued orders to the concerned officers on the spot to solve their problems. Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Food Muhammad Saeed Mughal MPA, EDO Malik Aslam, Naib Tehsil Nazim Tandlinwala Shaeer Daud, DDO(R.) Rai Zafar Bhatti and officers of food department were also present.
