Judge raids police station to recover detainees

Civil Judge Dev Sagar, on the directives of District and Sessions Judge Umerkot, raided Umerkot police station to recover detainees alleged to be in illegal captivity of police. He, however, failed to recover Sajid Ranghar and Samad Mahar, father of a detainee told journalists here on Thursday.
According to him two days back Umerkot police took away Sajid Ranghar and Samad Mahar from Hur coach stand, receiving this news paternal aunt of Sajid went unconscious and later breathed her last. Aggrieved Mahar senior filed an application before district and sessions Judge Umerkot, seeking release of the detainees from illegal captivity of Umerkot police.
On his directives Civil Judge Dev Sagar visited the Police Station but could not find the two. Mahar senior said that police had released Sajid Ranghar as they came to know about the possible raid and shifted his son Samad, to an unknown place. He expressed his fear that police will either kill his son in fake encounter or challan him for some heinous crime. He appealed to the authorities for taking action in this regard.
