40 petty cases disposed of: Judicial magistrates visit central prison Peshawar

In pursuance of the directives of Chief Justice Peshawar High Court (PHC) Justice Tariq Parvez Khan, judicial magistrates paid visit to the central prison Peshawar and disposed of 40 petty nature cases during the preceding week.
It is also note worthy that earlier on the special direction of CJ, the judicial magistrates had visited Central Prison, Peshawar, and deposed of 137 cases, leaving no under-trail prisoner in a petty nature case, said a press release here on Thursday.
The Honourable CJ has also directed all the District and Sessions Judges/ Zilla Qazis in the Province to arrange regular visits of judicial magistrates to jails in the Province so that no under-trail prisoner in a petty nature case, bailable offence or under the preventive law unnecessarily remains in prison for want of sureties or means to pay fine etc. The jail visits has been made a permanent feature, requiring the District and Session judges to regularly submit report after each visit.
