24 Apr, 2009

With a view to checking the quality of medicines and ensuring prompt disposal of cases against drug mafia, the Punjab government is going to establish Drug Testing Laboratories (DTLs) in Rawalpindi and Faisalabad. Director General Health Punjab, Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry said here on Thursday that PC-I of both the projects has been approved.
Two DTLs are already working in Lahore and Multan and after establishment of two more DTLs at Faisalabad and Rawalpindi, drug samples would be analysed immediately, which would help in disposal of cases of substandard and fake medicines without unnecessary delay. He informed that the projects of both laboratories have been included in the ADP of next fiscal year.
