10 killed, 30 injured in accident

At least 10 people were killed and some 30 others injured when a passenger AC coach (LYC 8255) skidded off the road and plunged into a deep ravine near Danda Shah Bilawal area on Mianwali road, some 65 km away from here in the Union Council Lawa early Thursday.
SHO Lawa Police Station, Chaudhry Ilyas told media men that the ill-fated Rawalpindi-bound coach carrying some 45 passengers was coming from Dera Ghazi Khan, when the vehicle reached near Danda Shah Bilawal the driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn and it fell into a deep ravine. As a result six persons were killed on the spot while four others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
On receiving the information, the local administration and police reached the site and carried out relief and rescue operation. The bodies and injured were shifted to THQ Talagang hospital while seriously injured were taken to DHQ Rawalpindi.
The dead were identified as Azim, driver Altaf, Mohammad Ramzan r/o Kot Addu, Zakaullah and Mohammad Afzal r/o Multan, Asad Iqbal r/o Rawalpindi, Abdul Ghafoor r/o Bakkar, while the names of three others could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
