Progress of work on 'DHA City' reviewed

A meeting of DHA Executive Board, chaired by its President Corps commander Lieutenant General, Shahid Iqbal, was held at Headquarters 5 Corps here on Thursday to discuss the pace of progress of the ongoing projects in DHA, says a press release. The Executive Board was informed that 'DHA City' on Super Highway, spread over approximately 12,000 acres of land, is being developed by DHA.
The Board was further informed that the new upcoming project is being planned in accordance with modern town planning concepts and will have a network of wide roads, adequate green and open areas developed in the backdrop of a semi hilly terrain.
Director DHA City said that the process of joint survey and demarcation of acquired land has been completed, terrain map has been finalised and master planning of the area will follow soon. All citizens of the country including overseas Pakistanis would be eligible to apply for the scheme being launched shortly.
Administrator DHA said that upcoming DHA City has lot of potential and presents an excellent opportunity for national and international developers and investors to do profitable ventures. President Executive Board (PEB) asked DHA management to adopt a resident - responsive policy in all its undertakings and to follow the philosophy of serving the residents by providing them the best possible facilities at all times and at all cost.
He asked the housing authority to bring a qualitative improvement in garbage management system in DHA by dealing with the problem in a holistic and comprehensive manner. He directed the housing authority to make efforts for revival of a stalled garbage management scheme which envisaged establishment of a landfill transfer site in DHA for speedy transfer and disposal of garbage waste.-PR
