Five injured in fresh wave of violence

A fresh wave of violence hit Pakhtoons' majority areas in the city on Saturday, where at least five people received bullet injuries when unidentified armed men opened fire on them. The two towns of the metropolis, North Nazimabad Town and New Karachi were dipped in tension whole day when some unknown armed men carried out operation in the area.
As a result two people were injured seriously in two firing incidents at North Nazimabad Town and three other get bullet injuries in limits of New Karachi Town. According to detail, three people were injured when unidentified armed men sprayed bullets on them near Metro Cinema, Banaras.
The injured people were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where they are identified as Sardar Alam 25, Aziz-ur-Rehman, 20 and Syed Alam, 18. In another incident, two people were injured in limits of North Nazimabad Town, when unknown armed men opened fire on them. Alam Zaib 23 and Salman 20, residents of Pahar Ganj were injured badly when unidentified gunmen sprayed bullets on them. Later, injured were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment. Sources at SP North Nazimabad Town office confirmed firing incidents and linked firing incidents as a part of ongoing tension between different groups.
