PML-N is determined to serve masses: Nawaz

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is determined to serve the masses in selflessly in the light of party manifesto and would ensure speedy justice and implementation of public welfare programme in letter and spirit for the ultimate good of public at large.
This was stated by PML-N chief Muhammad Nawaz Sharif while addressing a meeting held here on Saturday to review provision of speedy justice and reforms in different organisations, sources in the PML-N told Business Recorder. Among others, the meeting was attended by provincial ministers, PML-N legislators and heads of different committees formed for introduction of reforms in different institutions.
Nawaz hailed public welfare programme of the PML-N led Punjab Government and said rendering selfless services to masses is the PML-N manifesto. Referring to challenges being faced by the country, Nawaz said the country was passing through worst phase of its history, adding he had proposed PM to convene national conference of all the stakeholders in the larger national interest. The proposed moot would deliberate various issues including extremism and unemployment and provision of speedy justice.
Addressing the meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif said that seven instalments worth Rs 7.46 billion had so far been disbursed under food stamp scheme (FSS) among 1.5 million deserving persons. He said the provincial government was devising a comprehensive programme for extending technical education to children of 200,000 families getting benefit under the FSS.
He said the Punjab Government was paying special attention to provide free quality healthcare facilities to the masses. Free medicines besides free dialysis are being provided in all the district and tehsil headquarter hospitals while air conditioners and generators will be provided in these hospitals by May 15 at a cost of Rs 2.25 billion.
Shahbaz said the PML-N Punjab Government had already taken revolutionary steps for public welfare and ensured provision of Rooti at Rs 2 while a separate Authority under the leadership of Hanif Abbasi MNA had already been set up. He said task force headed by former Justice Khalil ur Rehman Khan had formulated solid recommendations about judicial reforms whose implementation would be helpful in providing speedy justice to people apart from improving the performance of subordinate judiciary.
