Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) and Ministry of Health on Saturday signed an agreement on Technical Co-operation Project for implementation of the District Health Information System (DHIS).
In a ceremony held at the Ministry of Health here on Saturday, the JICA and the ministry finalised 'Record of Discussions' on launching of the Technical Co-operation Project to the District Health Information System (DHIS) for evidence based decision making and management The duration of the co-operation is for a period three years starting from July 2009.
The main purpose of the Technical Co-operation Project on DHIS is to implement a nation-wide scale-up strategy for the DHIS and conduct routine operation and budget planning in an evidence based manner through the newly introduced DHIS, nation-wide in Pakistan. Ultimately these will improve the health information performance in the country, which is critical for achieving better health outcomes.-PR
