VRI seeks aid to prepare FMD, Brucellosis vaccines

The Veterinary Research institute (VRI) Peshawar is looking for international co-operation in the preparation of preventive vaccines for Foot & Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis in livestock of the province. Director VRI, Dr Syed Nasir Shah stated this while addressing the concluding session of a two-day Epidemiology, Diagnosis and Control infectious Disease (Foot & mouth Disease and Brucellosis) here on Saturday.
The NWFP Minister for Livestock, Hidayatullah Khan presided the session. A large number of scientists on biotechnology attended and read out their papers in the seminar. He said that success of the motivation of donor agencies for collaboration in the prevention of the Brucellosis is the breakthrough by the institute. For the purpose, Director VRI said that the institute had established a formal section on where work at the level of the diagnosis of the diseases had been carried out.
