NWFP Minister for Excise and Taxation, Liaqat Shabab has said that the present government is committed to resolve all the issues and crises inherited from the last dictatorial regime and all available resources were being utilised for this purpose. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of construction work of dialysis unit to be established at DHQ Hospital Nowshera.
The gathering was also addressed by the officers of Health Department and elite of the area. Provincial Minister said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government was committed to provide jobs and other facilities to the public and for this purpose the PPP leadership rendered great sacrifices.
Referring to the developmental activities carried out by the present government in district Nowshera, Excise and Taxation Minister said that Rs 50 million had been provided for the construction of 100 bedded modern hospital at Nowshera, while a huge amount would be allocated for the same project in the next budget.
Similarly, he continued that Rs 100 million were spent on the construction of spurs for the protection of agricultural land from erosion by river Kabul while new Commerce College would soon be inaugurated at Nowshera.
He told the gathering that different small hospitals of the district were reactivated and made functional through provision of technical staff and doctors. Minister assured the authorities of Health Department that shortage of various specialists in DHQ Hospital would be overcome within a month while the dialysis machinery and other required instruments would soon be provided to the said hospital.
Referring to the public confusion about Benazir Income Support Programme, the Provincial Minister clarified that the programme was not meant for any political party rather it is for the poor and needy people of the society and application of deserving people would be entertained through the said programme.
