Mumbai court rejects Kasab's plea to read newspapers

The special court hearing Ajmal Kasab's case has rejected his plea to read newspapers in jail. The defence lawyer said he informed the court about Kasab's plea, but it was rejected and allowed him (lawyer) to provide Kasab some storybooks. The lawyer said Kasab is well versed in Urdu language and he will be given Urdu books for reading, media reports quoting him in Mumbai said.
The lawyer complained he has been given a short time to prepare for arguments in the case, which is very sensitive in nature. The court had given him time till May 2 to prepare arguments during next hearing.
