Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has sent a message of greetings to the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai on the occasion of their Revolution Day on April 28, 2009. In his message, the Prime Minister said, "It gives me great pleasure to extend to Your Excellency on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan, and on my own behalf, our most cordial felicitations on the Revolution Day of Afghanistan.
"Pakistan and Afghanistan enjoy close and cordial relations marked by shared history and culture of our peoples. I am confident that these ties would be further strengthened in the coming years through bilateral co-operation in various fields. "I pray for your good health as well as for the well-being of the brotherly people of Afghanistan.
