The profit after tax of Unilever Pakistan Limited has increased to Rs 559.304 million in the first quarter ended March 31, 2009 as compared to Rs 518.982 million in the corresponding period last year. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Monday declared that the company's earning per share has increased to Rs 42.07 in the period under review against Rs 39.04 in the same period a year back.
The company's sales increased to Rs 8.860 billion in this period against Rs 6.728 billion in the same period last year. The cost of sales increased to Rs 5.904 billion against Rs 4.358 billion. The company's profit before tax, however, declined to Rs 824.306 million in the three months period in 2009 against Rs 834.870 million in the same period in 2008.
