Aftab Memon appointed as new director general of PSQCA

Engineer Aftab Ahmed Memon, an officer of District Management Group (DMG) has taken over as Director General, Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) under Ministry of Science and Technology. Although a Mechanical Engineer, he also has degrees in Law and Masters in Public Administration.
Besides serving as a professional engineer, Aftab Memon as a career Civil Servant has vast experience of various government departments spanning over nearly three decades. In his initial career, he had served as assistant commissioner as well as deputy commissioner and as deputy secretary in various departments of Sindh and Punjab governments.
He has also worked as Director Excise & Taxation, Government of Sindh, Director Industries, Director General, Rural Development and SAZDA. He has held the assignments as Secretary to the Government of Sindh in several departments including Excise & Taxation, local government, Agriculture, Information, Member Board of Revenue, Sindh.
Engr. Memon has extensive experience of management, finance, fiscal control, local and special laws. In senior positions, he has held close interaction with international agencies like Asian Development Bank, UNICEF etc and attended number of local and foreign seminars/trainings during his different assignments.
In his capacity as member of General Body of SITE Ltd for over 10 years and as Director Industries, Engr. Aftab Memon has earned insight into issues pertaining to industrial sector in Pakistan. With this professional acumen and multi disciplinary experience, he may provide new dimension to PSQCA in promoting standards and quality culture in the country.-PR
