Recruitment against vacant posts: CDA extends applications date till May 14

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to extend the date for submission of applications for the vacant postts announced in February 2009 Last time date for submission of applications was extended till April 30, 2009. Now, the Authority has once again extended the date till May 14, 2009, providing opportunity to maximum number of unemployed youth including candidates from the far-flung areas.
Talking to Business Recorder on Thursday CDA officials said that the number of vacant posts are more then 800. "The decision of hiring people has been taken after considering the increase in the number of ongoing infrastructure development projects in the capital", officials said. However, on the other hand sources told Business Recorder that the decision has been taken in view of political pressure to fill these vacant posts immediately.
Sharing the details of the vacant posts CDA officials said that there are more then 800 different vacant posts from BPS-1 to BPS-19. "Deputy Director Wildlife (Zoo), Deputy Director Waste Management, Deputy Director Environment, Education officer and 16 Assistant Directors (Civil) haves also not been appointed yet. Twenty nine vacant posts of BPS-16 are also lying vacant", he added.
Officials further said that from February 2009 till to date they have received more than 0.75 million applications from across the country. "After May 14, the last date of filing application, the authority will take at least one month to shortlist the candidates for the interview", officials added.
All the information will be available on the website of the Authority. Official further said that with the increase in the staff members the Authority will be desperately requiring office space to accommodate them as currently CDA headquarter is over crowded.
