The outflow of foreign portfolio investment continued as the offshore investors withdrew another $12.216 million from the country's equity market during April 2009. According to the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) data.
The foreign investors withdrew $52.302 million in the preceding months while the cumulative outflow of this mode of investment has increased to $622.646 million in the period from January 1, 2009 to April 30, 2009. The data shows that the offshore investors withdrew $9,44,441 from the country's equity market during the outgoing week.
The week started on a positive note as a fresh inflow of $3,078,743 was recorded on Monday. However, this trend could not continue as an outflow of $4,511,602 was witnessed on Tuesday. Foreign investors remained net buyers of shares worth $445,827 on Wednesday and $42,591 on Thursday. The market remained closed on Friday on account of Labour Day.
