Seeds and sugar prices were sharply higher in slow trading on the wholesale grain and seed market on Saturday, dealers said. On seed side cottonseed oilcake with bag Punjab low type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 900 and better type gained Rs 100 to Rs 1,000, other items did not move any side during the subdued trading, they said.
On the cereal side sugar low variety rose by Rs 30 to Rs 4,200 and good type was up by Rs 20 to Rs 5,600, they added.
