Federal Minister for Youth Affairs, Shahid Hussain Bhutto called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani at the PM's House on Thursday morning. He informed the Prime Minister of the status of National Internship Programme under which 25,000 graduates have completed 16 years of education and age less than 25 years.
These graduates would be provided training in various skills for one year in different government institutes. During this period the government would provide each interne a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month. The present government has launched this programme from Larkana which would soon be expanded to other parts of the country including the federal capital.
The Prime Minister said that areas should be earmarked in all the four provinces for extending this programme. The Minister also informed the Prime Minister about the recommendations on the action plan and implementation of the Steering Committee on National Youth Policy.-PR
