Government to ensure provision of latest equipment for PAF: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said the government would ensure provision of latest equipment for Pakistan Air Force by entering into more joint ventures with other countries. "We will continue to focus upon improving PAF's indigenous capabilities as well," said the Prime Minister while talking to Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman here on Thursday.
The Prime Minister said PAF has always played an important role for defence of the country in addition to providing vital support to civil administration in relief and rehabilitation efforts during natural calamities. He said the government would provide all necessary resources for up-gradation of PAF's professional capabilities. Gilani asked Rao Qamar Suleman to ensure that under his command PAF continues to be equipped with the latest technology and was ever ready to meet any challenges.
Air Chief Marshal apprised the Prime Minister of various measures taken by PAF to optimise its effectiveness and efficiency. He also informed the Prime Minister about the ongoing upgradation and modernisation of the PAF.
