Brutal torture on old man: LHC disposes of suo motu proceeding

Chief Justice Lahore High Court here on Friday disposed of a suo motu proceeding against brutal torture on a 60-year-old man after the DPO Kasur told the court that the SHO of the police station, Muazzam Ali and an ASI Ajmal Hussain have been suspended. The DPO however said Ajmal has obtained bail till May 16 after a FIR was registered against him.
He further told the court that victim Asghar was arrested by police officials in a theft case but his arrest was not mention in the record. He however, contended that the case against him has also been discharged. Earlier the old victim Asghar Ali was produced before the court with the help of two persons, as he was unable to even walk freely due to brutal torture by the police. The CJ directed the DPO to get the victim admitted at DHQ hospital Kasur at government expense. The CJ further directed the DPO to complete the investigation at the earliest and submit the challans of the accused before the trial court.
