The Swiss franc traded near flat against the euro on Tuesday and managed to gain some ground against the dollar as investors remain encouraged by strong equity market performances over the past few weeks. The franc versus the euro remained hovering around the New York close, trading at 1.507 francs per euro at 0652 GMT.
After briefly pulling back on Monday, the franc continued its rise against the dollar, with the greenback selling for 1.1075 francs, 0.23 percent up from the previous close. Over the past weeks, investors have become keener to move out of safe haven assets, strengthening both the franc and the euro against the dollar, said UBS economist Reto Huenerwadel.
