Nepal's Maoists block government formation

Maoist lawmakers in Nepal forced the adjournment of parliament for a second day Tuesday, blocking a multi-party bid to form a new government and resolve the country's political crisis. Shouting slogans against the president, the MPs stormed the well of the house and disrupted proceedings until the speaker was forced to call an adjournment.
The country has been in political limbo for weeks since the Maoist government collapsed following the sudden resignation on May 4 of prime minister Prachanda. Prachanda, who had been in office for just eight months, quit in protest after the president sought to block a bid by his government to sack the country's army chief.
