The Karachi Port handled 80,012 tonnes of cargo including 58,874 tonnes of import and 21,138 tonnes of export; 2,361 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The freights comprised of 77,471 tonnes of dry cargo including 29,456 tonnes of general cargo; 18,045 tonnes of cement; 26,100 tonnes of coal; 2,541 tonnes of sugar; 1,330 tonnes of sulphur and 2,541 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Eight ships namely viz Banglar Maya, Apl Sharjah, Selendang Nilam, Swift Ace, Quetta, TS Malaysia, Uni Promote and Asian Queen sailed out to sea, carrying general cargo, containers, general cargo, cars, tankers, containers and bulk respectively, during the reported period.
Nine vessels namely Hyundai Duke, Ocean Host, Christina Scan, Pacific Faithful, Al Farabi, Faial, Moyra, Al Marwah and Queen Arrow II are currently at the berths to load/off load containers, bulk, general cargo, bunker, bulk, tanker and bulk respectively.
Two ships namely Pacific Faithful and Sea Green are expected to sail on Friday. While three more ships namely Queen Arrow II, Hyundai Duke and Al Karim M are expected to sail on Saturday.
Five vessels viz CE Pacific, Mol Silver Fern, Miyunhe, Cap Georgia and Atlantic Express due to arrive on Friday, carrying crude oil, containers and steel respectively. While seven more ships Iron Monger-3, Karina Theresa, Cliper Daisy, Chemstar Venus, Mol Ability, H&H Tide and Hansa Liberty carrying crude oil, Molasses, ethanol and containers respectively, are due to arrive on Saturday.
