CZC doubles relief grant for hospitals

The Central Zakat Council (CZC) of Ministry of Zakat and Ushr has collectively enhanced annual Zakat grant from Rs 24.600 million to Rs 50.600 million for various hospitals and health institutions across the country.
The CZC has increased the relief grant of district headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi from four million rupees to five million rupees, Rs 6.600 million from existing Rs 4.400 million for Holy Family Hospital, Rs 12 million from Rs six million for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, Rs six million to Rs 12 million for Layton Rahmatullah Benevolent Trust Karachi and Rs 15 million from present Rs 4.200 million for Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre Karachi, official sources told APP.
The first instalment of the new relief grant will be released in July subject to utilisation and reconciliation of relief grants. The ministry releases every year Zakat funds in the shape of relief grants to the poor deserving patients, victims of natural calamities, educational stipends for promotion of vocational education to eradicate poverty and unemployment from the country.
