Growers asked to sow stronger cotton variety

Punjab agriculture department has advised the cotton growers to sow only those varieties that have strong resistance power to fight leaf curl virus. The department has also advised the farmers to uproot weeds and not to sow those plants known for hosting the leaf curl virus.
It also suggested the farmers that white fly also works as a spreading agent for this virus, farmers should take all measures to eradicate it. The department directed that the farmers should arrange proper spray in consultation with staff of the agriculture department on host plants to eradicate the menace of white fly.
