Conservative MPs support for Pakistan hailed

Pakistan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Wajid Shamsul Hasan has expressed confidence in the efforts of the Conservative Parliamentarians for support of Pakistan on various bilateral and international issues.
Hosting a lunch for a Group of Conservative Friends of Pakistan at the High Commission, he spoke of the warm relations existing between the political leaderships and mentioned the recent meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and the Tory Party leader David Cameron.
The members of Friends of Pakistan Group who attended the lunch included Chairman of the Group MP Rob Wilson, Lord Altaf Sheikh, Lady Sheikh, MP Stephen Hammond, MP Cheryl Gillian, and Barrister Ray Chisti. The two sides discussed matters pertaining to Pak-UK relations, current political situation in Pakistan and UK. They also discussed the plight of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPS) of Swat Valley and dwelt upon ways to raise assistance and help for their support and rehabilitation.
