'The Government would soon achieve the historical target of 6 million metric tonnes wheat.' the Provincial Minister for Food, Malik Nadeem Kamran said. He said that Rs 150 billion had been fixed for the purchase of wheat. Out of which Rs 140 billion had been spent so far and the remaining Rs 10 billion would be utilised to purchase wheat only from the small growers.
Kamran further said that wheat procurement campaign was underway and the whole process was being done through one window operation. He also said that hoarders and commission mafia, who had been exploiting the small farmers in the past, had not been allowed to bring their wheat to the government's centre at any cost.
Presiding over the Youth Wing Convention of PML-N at Jaranwla on Friday, he asked the workers to be united to strengthen their party so that it could successfully deal with imminent threats and challenges confronted to the country under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. He appreciated the role played by the PML-N workers during the movement for restoration of judiciary.
