The military operation in Swat and other parts of the country would continue till last terrorist is flashed out, said Rehman Malik, Federal Minister for Interior here on Saturday. "Pakistan is the frontline state in war against terrorism and the government is making all-out efforts to root out the terrorists from Pakistan to make the entire world secure", he said while talking to Richard C Smith, special envoy of Australia for Pakistan and Afghanistan, who called on him.
Australian High Commissioner Zorica McCarthy was also present in the meeting. They discussed the war on terror and military operation against militants in Pakistan. The minister said that it was Afghan war against the USSR which gave Pakistan the Kalashinkov culture and inserted the element of terrorism and violence in the society. However, he added that efforts were being made to remove the element of violence from society.
"We will continue efforts till elimination of the last terrorist from Pakistan's soil", Rehman said, adding that the people of Pakistan "are peace-loving and they will not allow terrorists" to create unrest. He appreciated Australia's efforts for peace and said that Pakistan had always been a believer in maintaining peaceful ties with its neighbours to attain sustainable development and prosperity in the region.
The Australian Special Envoy lauded the efforts of Pakistan against terrorism and said that Pakistan "is fighting a war of entire world", and it was the responsibility of everyone to support Pakistan in this war. He said that Australia would help Pakistan in capacity-building of civil armed forces to crush terrorism from its roots.
