Pakistan Fisheries Exporters Association (PAKFEA) on Thursday appealed to the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to implement the June-July fishing ban so that breeding of shrimp and fish could properly take place. According to a press release of PAKFEA, the ban imposition should be ensured to help grow marine animal, citing the Indian example of fishing restriction that lasts for three months from May 15 to August 15 every year.
The growth in shrimp and fish will also boost the fishermen's livelihood whole year, it said and criticised a batch of fisheries influential people for pursuing ban lift through the government officials for personal short-term goals.- PR
