Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), former Justice Qazi Muhammad Farooq on Thursday announced to hold bye-polls in National Assembly constituency NA-55 Rawalpindi-VI on July 04, 2009. This National Assembly seat had fallen vacant due to the resignation of MNA Haji Pervaiz Khan.
According to schedule announced, nomination papers for this constituency will be submitted between June 03 to 06, 2009 and scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officers will be held on June 08 and 09, 2009.
Last date for filing of appeals against acceptance or rejection of the nomination papers by the Returning Officer has been set for June 11 and last date for decision on appeals by the Tribunal has been set for June 16, 2009. Last date for withdrawal of candidature has been set for June 17, publication of revised list of candidates will be made on June 18 and polling will be held on July 04, 2009.
