Unhygienic ice balls, drinks being sold unchecked

The sale of ice balls, unhygienic drinks containing ice candy, kulfy, falooda, cut fruits, contaminated food and other similar polluted eatable items is going unchecked in the Federal Capital. According to a survey carried by this agency, these items are freely being sold around the schools where students are seen using them.
Although, a two-month ban has been imposed by the concerned authorities on the sale of ice-balls and unhygienic drinks as these items pose serious danger to the health of the people especially children. But, such items are easily available around the schools and mini-markets of the Capital, said, M Yousaf who pick and drop his children to a school in G- 10.
He informed that alongside food items of patent companies, the sale of sub-standard items like kulfy, falooda and unhygienic drinks is also going on in the streets and parks in the evening. Qamar Zaman, father of a student studying in government school in I-8 area, informed that his kids are suffering from ear, nose and throat diseases besides fever owing to use of such items.
